Babies are very fragile and hence need extra care and attention, here are 5 tips on how to keep your Child as safe as possible.

1. DONT STOP BREAST FEEDING: breast milk gives your baby everything he/she needs to thrive for the first six months of his/her life.  Breastfeeding also helps your baby fight infections in the first few months of his/her life. Breast milk also contains antibodies which help protect your baby against illnesses such as tummy bugs (gastroenteritis), colds, urinary infections and ear infections

2. EMPHASIS ON HYGIENE: not only the baby but also everyone around the baby. Ensure that the environment around the child is always clean and sterile, always clean your hands, sneeze away from where a baby maybe, better yet always use a tissue, and keep the Child away from any places that pisses a lot of bacteria.

3. EXPOSE THEM TO THE OCASSIONAL GERMS: yes germs helps strengthen a babies immune system, however having said that don’t go throwing your Child in the most germ infected place you can think of, but the occasional toy suck may not be as harmful as we perceive it.

4. KEEP YOUR CHILD WARM: children under the age of 2 are more susceptible to hypothermia and frostbite, on the other hand don’t keep your Child too warm. How do know if your child is too cold or too hot? Keep an eye out on the lips if they have turned blue, or a pale nose, fingertips, or ears then the child is cold. He/she might be too hot if the back of his/her neck feels warm or sweaty, his/her cheeks are flushed, or he/she have a bumpy rash on his/her chest or tummy.

5. MANAGE YOUR BABIES SKIN: 50% of babies suffer from at least one episode of nappy rash at some time. Routine baby skincare should comprise gentle cleansing whenever the nappy is soiled (using warm water or alcohol-free baby wipes), the use of good-quality super-absorbent nappies, and the application of a barrier preparation at every nappy change. Ideally, a barrier preparation has been clinically proven to be effective in babies and mimic the skin’s natural function by forming a long-lasting barrier to maintain optimum moisture levels. It should not contain any unnecessary ingredients, including antiseptic, preservative or perfume (or other potential sensitizers), or any ingredients that are toxic or have undocumented safety
